Mode of nutrition

• Saprophytes: the external digestion of dead organic matter to simple organic matter and absorption
• Parasite: the directly assimilation of nutrients from host ,when the host die, they act as saprophytes.
• Chemoautotrophic: obtain energy by oxidizing inorganic substance to chemical energy in organic food
• Photoautotrophic: absorb light energy in chlorophyll by photosynthesis then convert to chemical energy in organic food
• Holozoic: fresh organic food is digested and converted to biomass

 

*denitrifcation occour only when the soil is water logged.

* nitrogen fixing bacteria are not chemoautotrophic.
